about

"Journey Across the Great American West" is a hard rock song originally released on Isaac Cabrera's debut EP "Walking Forward". This song was inspired by Isaac's epic solo trek across America where he traveled over 4000 miles by motorcycle. Isaac decided he wanted to remix the track in order to increase the energy and the feeling of growing danger along the journey. In this song, Isaac narrates the adventure while the guitar and drums duel each other for survival. These two instruments build in intensity until they reach a frenzy during the story’s climax. For added drama, Isaac recorded his motorcycle and interspersed the engine and exhaust sounds through the remix.

lyrics

Another town, another day,
Where do I belong?
Camps of sorrow, fields of hope,
Still trying to find a place to stay.
Trees roll past me on the road,
I’m climbing the mountain of my life.

How do I get back home?
How many miles must I go?

Lava beds on the horizon,
Sea spray on the coast.
Storm clouds follow behind me,
It’s freezing cold outside.
I’m still out on my own,
Where can I go from here?

How do I get back home?
How many miles must I go?

Like an eagle I keep on flying,
While I’m riding through Idaho.
Wild deer and buffalo,
There’s life everywhere.
The sun dies leaving darkness,
I need a refuge for the night.

How do I get back home?
How many miles must I go?

The bedrock runs deep in these canyons,
The golden trees are no more.
This harsh wind blows me away,
The hot air turns to smoke.
I don’t think I’m gonna make it,
The desert is swallowing my soul.

I’m taking control,
I’ll find my way home.
